(a)        Transportation Priorities and Investment for a Healthy Toronto – Item No. HL20.2

 

Recommendation:  That Public Works, Planning and Economic Development and Public Health staff review the City of Toronto’s Board of Health and Equity criteria for consideration in Hamilton’s Master Transportation Plan and report back to the General Issues Committee

 

(b)        Transportation Priorities and Investment for a Healthy Toronto – Item No. HL21.8

 

Recommendation:       Be Received

           

(c)        Menu Labelling – Making Key Nutrition Information Readily Available in Restaurants – Item No. HL21.2

 

Recommendation:       (a)        That the recommendation for the

Provincial Government to develop Provincial menu labelling legislation as outlined in the correspondence be endorsed;

 

(b)        That correspondence be sent to the Right Hounourable Premier Kathleen Wynne; the Honourable Debra Matthews, Minister of Health and Long Term Care; and local Members of Provincial Parliament to support the development of a provincial menu labeling legislation.

 

(d)       Middlesex-London Health Unit: Artificial Tanning Legislation Update – Government Bill 30 Introduced to Ban Youth Under 18 from Access to Tanning Beds

 

Recommendation:       Be Received

 

(e)        Call for Provincial Action on Youth Access to Tanning Beds – Niagara Region Board of Health

 

Recommendation:       (a)        That Bill 30 Act to Regulate the

Selling and Marketing of Tanning    Services and Ultraviolet Light Treatments, be endorsed;

 

(b)        That correspondence be sent to the Right Hounourable Premier Kathleen Wynne; the Honourable Debra Matthews, Minister of Health and Long Term Care; and local Members of Provincial Parliament, to commend the Ontario Government for Introducing Bill 30.
